What it’s all about
Google has been the official go-to for everything (except for events, of course, that’s why you come to us!). We all use Google Maps and if you’re a geek like me, Google Scholar on a daily basis. Now you can add to that list Google Places, where you can write and read reviews of local businesses. Upcoming events will include a feature blogger who will be able to choose the theme.
What happened
Excuse my French, but Kick*ss Cupcakes is quite kick*ss. The flavors are unique (Mojito, Cinnamon Chai Pecan Sticky), many flavors are vegan, and the service is always with a smile. So naturally, with the official launch of Google Places, organizer Adri Cowan saw an opportunity for both Kick*ss and Google Places to benefit. Kick*ss Cupcakes already had a solid a regular happy hour following. On Monday December 19th, 150 cupcake lovers shuffled in and out of the cozy location in Somerville. Upon reviewing a local business, attendees received a ticket voucher for a free holiday-inspired cupcake (Sam Adams Hard Cider, Gingerbread with Eggnog Frosting, and Champagne) and a champagne sample.
