I know we weren’t at capacity yet, but it was a little too packed for my taste. I know there was a lot of interest, but I think maybe the event should have stayed a little more limited.
Unrelatedly, I’d like to figure out how to get more of the Boston-local tech crowd out for these events (no offense to my marketing/PR fellows), to have a little more balance to the discussion.

I thought that the event was great and I really enjoyed myself except for the waiting in line aspect. Would advise using a location with more open space for roaming around and meeting people?

Great time, the Rattlesnake rooftop was awesome and there were a lot of interesting people…..of whom I can’t remember. That’s what happens on a $90 bar tab.

LOL at Chris, business cards, always ask for business cards!
Event was great, my main complaint with nearly all tweetups is, like Nicolas, that there isn’t enough room.
How about we just rent out a football field somewhere for a day, grab a couple kegs, set up a wi-max connection and roam free?

Sorry I did a greet-n-run, but the patio line was long and the (week)night was young. Always a great (and diverse) group of smart folks. I actually LIKE the venue, but the crowd-control tactics (which is more a sign of success than a complaint) was such a turn-off.

I had a really great time.. but yeah.. that line for the patio.. the bouncers up there were terribly dick-ish.. and did a horrible job of managing the situation.. It was like.. helping to create a miserable situation and not really caring.. so yeah.
I don’t think the crowd control tactics.. well sure.. a sign of success.. but.. I think there’s better ways of handling it.. they just got under my skin.. makes me not want to go to that place again,,
Maybe its a certain kind of club culture that sorta doesn’t work well with the sorta tweet up culture

Second Matt on the roof minders’ manners in general. Perhaps at a later one, we should cap registration for the event ten short of capacity? I had friends who got there early and were on the roof, who I meant to see — I never saw them. I did enjoy the people I spoke with (when I could hear them over the noise level).
Really, if I were there to run a $90 bar tab, it might be fun. But if I’m somewhere to network? Maybe not so much. Somewhere where I can circulate and hear myself think might be better?
